Australian Crop Breeders is the peak body representing organisations (public and private) that generate new varieties for Australian field crop farmers.

What we do

The ACB works with other industry bodies to support and promote the Australian field crop industry and maximise its international competitiveness. We provide a focal point of contact for any parties wishing to influence Australian crop breeding organisations or seeking input from our membership.

We provide leadership to:
Research and develop strategy
To provide a forum for researchers and public research funders such as GRDC and the ARC to transfer information or seek breeders' input on research direction.
The National Variety Trial system
A strategic focus as well as providing operational input, focusing on the purpose of NVT, the roles and responsibilities of key stakeholders and recommendations on policies and processes.
End-point royalty collection
Monitor and improve EPR collection systems across all open pollinated crop platforms that hold the appropriate Plant Breeders Rights (PBR) status.
